Kiraya, To-Pay Freight and Other Words the Adda Uses

A plain-language glossary of the money terms every Pakistani transport office uses, so the software speaks your language.

Kiraya

The hired freight you pay a truck owner to carry your voucher. It is an expense against the voucher and part of what you subtract from freight to find your commission.

To-pay freight

Freight the receiver pays at destination, not the sender at booking. The delivery office collects it and settles with the booking office.

Banam

Fines — usually from check-posts or police. A real, recurring road expense that belongs on the voucher it happened to.

Dhakka

Pushing/hauling charges, often at godams or crowded loading points. Track it as its own head so the owner can see it.

Godam

The warehouse/cargodrome. Godam charges are storage and handling at the terminal, collected from the party.
