How Goods Transport Booking Agencies Work in Pakistan
How a goods booking agency runs, from accepting goods at the adda to loading hired trucks, delivering in another city, collecting freight and earning commission.
The adda
A booking office at the adda accepts goods from senders. The sender hands over the maal, the counter writes the bilty, collects the "paid" freight and charges, and hands back a copy.
Loading the truck
Pending bilties for the same destination are picked onto a voucher — one truck from your office to the delivery office. The truck is your own or hired, and the kiraya (hired freight) is agreed up front.
The journey
The voucher is dispatched, then marked arrived at the destination office. Each bilty on it is delivered to its receiver, one by one or all together.
Collecting at destination
"To-pay" freight is collected by the delivery office from the receivers. The office remits to the booking office and keeps its cut.
The commission
The agency's profit on a voucher is freight collected minus voucher expenses minus kiraya. That is the number the owner actually watches.
